Thank you in advance for giving me the space to get all of this out. I am at the end of an absolutely insane year and a half with many lessons that I hope you all can take something from. All of these realizations highlighted a lifetime of maladaptive behaviors and led me to this big realization:

My dating life has always been a fiery ball of flames. New relationships start out real hot and heavy and then end very tragically. The person I was dating at the beginning of last year – I wanted so badly for her to be the one. That desire caused me to overlook a lot of glaring red flags. I overlooked and rushed the process so much that I almost moved to another country to be with her. In hindsight, this would have been a major mistake. I will never repeat this life long pattern.

  1. Don’t idealize people. When they show you who they are, BELIEVE them
